I have taught both ways. I loved teaching the same subjects because as the day goes on you get better and better at what you are teaching. It is never the SAME for all classes. We teach with teams of 3 and that seems to work well. We only departmentalize social studies, math, and science.. I also enjoy it because you can really focus on your area and come up with incredible lessons.
When I taught all subjects, I just felt rushed and didn't have enough time to become focused and teach as well as I do with only one or two subjects..
