Jobs!
By Debbie

Clip to ScrapBook
Lynne:
I don't know where you live, but there is a huge teacher shortage in the South. I'm in Mississippi, and most of the counties in this state are classified as "critical need" areas. This means that the need is so
great that people with degress in something other than education can qualify to teach by the Alternate Certification route. Of course, you won't make a whole lot in Mississippi. The base pay for a first year teacher with a Bachelors degree in this state is a little over $25,000. Each school district kicks in a little more, but not very much. That's the biggest reason why most of Mississippi
is "critical need". Anyway, there are other states in the South and lots of teaching jobs waiting to be filled. Come on down, we'd love to have you!
