pleasant environment
By Donna

Clip to ScrapBook
Pleasant is such a nondescript sorta word. If you mean an atmosphere conducive to learning, that's somewhat easier to describe: Visually stimulating, colorful, creative, displays of students' work hanging on bulletin boards.
Books and other print-rich resources possibly related to the learning theme of the month or a current event should be constantly updated and easily accessible to students. Playing music, either classical or other sometimes helps students focus or relax (or could work the other way entirely). Having your desk situated in a place where you are easily available to your students and
making it a place they feel comfortable to borrow from but respectful of its contents is another good idea. Organization of students' desks to assure that optimal learning takes place is another aspect of a conducive environment. Good luck!
