teaching own child
By Mary

Clip to ScrapBook
I taught all three of my children when they were in first grade. It all depends on how independent your child is. My first was very independent and we did well together. My middle was fine but it was a little rough because
I was pregnant with #3.Luckily I had a student teacher that was wonderful. My last child was and still is a handful. I think it was because she was so familiar with the school and the staff. She did well with me because I knew how to handle her.
It is a unique situation. You really get direct feedback from your lessons with your own child. I truly can look back and and feel
proud that I did have them in class. I gave them no special treatment. They did the homework and I did no special preps for tests and such. There's no time for specialness when you teach.
