Lisa,

After seven years of teaching at the same school I am resigning from my current position. My husband and I are moving to a new part of the state. The school system I would like to teach for requests 3 references.
On the application it states if you are currently teaching one reference must be the principal you currently work with. My situation is unique because our school has 3 new principals hired in the last year. I will put the head principal and my other two references are retired principals I worked with for six years. One principal I work with used to be my supervisor and I worked with

her last year as my grade level principal. We do not get along at all thus she will not be a reference.

If you have to use the principal you don't get along with as a reference I would not worry about it. She must give a fair and unbias opinion of you as a teacher. If she made false statements, then she would be in major trouble. One year the principal I worked with was also my evaluator. She was on my case the entire school year (fellow teachers even commented about it) and was always pushing me to do more. I happen to get a terrific evaluation and probably could use her as a reference. Good luck.
