Flight
By Julie

Clip to ScrapBook
There's a book, I believe it is published by Scholastic called "Eureka! It's A Plane" It is a wonderful small book that goes through the history, the scientific aspect of flight, and has great vocabulary (especially for sixth grade level). I also had my students design their own planes (paper)and we incorporated it into math to estimating and measuring the distances on three flights. Then graphing the class data, finding averages, etc. It was a great learning experience. We also took a field trip to a small airport and talked with a pilot.
