Incorportating Cooperative Learning By Jennifer
|
| I am a fourth grade teacher and cooperative learning is a part of everything I do everyday. Beginning with seating arrangements, students sit in groups of 4 to 5. They work together on large group projects usually in Soc. St or Science. I also use cooperative learning as students are learning math concepts as peer tutors or investigating using manipulatives and writer's workshops as they critique each other's work in small circles. Just make sure you model your expectations before you begin everything you do. I even go through and model what I expect to groups talking about, how they treat each other, etc. There are great teaching resources out there that can help you. Hope this helps.
