writing.....added on to Cloudy with a Chance

Hi....I teach second grade and I also read Cloudy with a Chance......we read it, then I broke the class into 3 groups.....to work on beginning middle and end.....each group had to break the book down into 3 parts and each group was in charge of either beginning, middle or end. They had to write what happened in the story. We wrote on chart paper and shared as a class. I continued this lesson to then write a new story Cloudy with a chance of toys.....we turned the chart paper over and each group wrote their part. We then put it all together. In the end we came out with quite a great and creative story...It was fun! They will continue this week to write about something they want the weather to bring.
