Hi Karen,I really don't think that is very fair to you. It says little about how much faith the state has in its experienced, "new" teachers. It's too bad, as well, because I am sure your experiences teaching speak volumes | for your ability. There isn't any type of grandfather clause or reciprocal certification that would apply to you? Anyone in your union who can help you out--experience credit, something, anything???? I just feel bad for you. I am about to start my 15th year of teaching, and just knowing that I would have to prove myself all over again is somewhat discouraging. Nonetheless, I | | am sure your experience and the evaluations that preceded your getting hired for this district reflect just how well you teach. You KNOW you are a great teacher, so hang in there, "prove it"--since you have to, then sit back and relax. Good luck
