Hi Karen,

I really don't think that is very fair to you. It says little about how much faith the state has in its experienced, "new" teachers. It's too bad, as well, because I am sure your experiences teaching speak volumes
for your ability. There isn't any type of grandfather clause or reciprocal certification that would apply to you? Anyone in your union who can help you out--experience credit, something, anything???? I just feel bad for you. I am about to start my 15th year of teaching, and just knowing that I would have to prove myself all over again is somewhat discouraging. Nonetheless, I
am sure your experience and the evaluations that preceded your getting hired for this district reflect just how well you teach. You KNOW you are a great teacher, so hang in there, "prove it"--since you have to, then sit back and relax. Good luck
