I, too, am going to send this anyonmously. I have been teaching in sped since last Dec. I am very concerned about that special ed teacher you had the problem with. Going into special education is for the first time, especially if its your first teaching job. It's hard with all the paper work and learning the ropes. I know I have had a difficult time. I am wondering if he just doesn't to try to make things fun, but is taking it way too far. You can't be a students' buddy, that is for sure. You have to be there teacher first. All in all, it is no excuse if the children's needs are not being met. I hope things work out, and he gets into a routine before those students loose out on some important education.
