Teachers arrive at 8:00 and meet students outside at 8:25. All students have a 15 minute recess in the morning. Lunch is 45 minutes, which includes 25 minutes of recess. According to contract the teachers have a 30 minute| duty-free lunch. The primary students have a 15 minute afternoon recess. All students are dismissed at 3:00. The teachers are required to stay until 3:45. We have one formal professional development day at the end of the semester in January. Our staff has elected to stay for an extra 45 minutes twice a month to meet in grade levels. This time is used to plan integrated units, work on | |
curriculum mapping, and implementation of standards. The extra 45 minutes is counted as comp time. With the new contract, we can be paid for this time or leave early at a time agreeable to the principal and the teacher.We have staff meetings once a month on Wednesday afternoon. The meetings usually are completed before 3:45. Committee meetings are held as needed.
