At our school, we have to arrive by 7:45, school starts for the day @ 8:00. The lower grades have a 15 minute recess in the morning, and another in the afternoon, plus 15 minutes after lunch. The upper grades have 1 15
minute recess in the morning and one 15 minute recess after lunch. School dismisses @ 2:45...staff is required to stay until at least 3:45. The first Wednesday of every month, school dismisses at 1:00, and we have staff development and collaboration meetings. Only on Friday's are staff allowed to leave at 3:00. Seems a bit longer then some of the others that I have read here. We have

two major full-day staff development days, one in the fall and another in the spring. We are also required to be available for an open house 5 days before school starts. It starts at 8:00 AM. We have meetings all morning and afternoon, then parents begin to arrive at 4:00 thru 6:00. Then, we are required to particpate in community/school programs until 9:00. It makes for a very long day! Glad it only happens once a year!!!
