Election Day, etc.
By Carolyn

Clip to ScrapBook
Imagine that they didn't want to open just for Wednesday. But I guess that makes sense. Can you imagine how much constructive teaching would take place? And what about the kids' behavior? Nuts, I am sure.

I have heard other experienced teachers complain about the half-days. Maybe your district can come up with an alternative plan? It really sounds ridiculous to basically cram a full day into a "half" day and starve the kids, too.

One of our neighboring school districts had a half-day off before Election Day. She thought it was a real waste of time. Kids know they are going to get out early, so why bother to work?
