Hi Diane
I work in Grand Rapids and I know that it is difficult to land a job in this area. Many schools here have been cutting back in a lot of areas. I know that Rockford ( I don't work there) cut 4 or 2 (can't remember| which) special education positions and they are increasing their class sizes to avoid hiring new teachers. It's the same in many districts around here. I personally WOULD NEVER return to subbing unless it was the last straw and I had to to survive. How's that for advice????? to keep your name mentioned time and again. You know that old addage out of sight out of mind? It applies.I don't really know what to tell you...I feel for you and wish you the best of luck.
