Homework
By Traci

Clip to ScrapBook
Hi! There are two things that I use for homework incentives.
#1: If a student completes all of their homework for 10 consecutive days they receive a no homework coupon. This coupon entitles them to skip one assignment
of their choice. I usually give 2 to 3 assignments a night (I teach 4th grade). Students have actually saved their coupons throughout the year and redeem them in the months of May and June.
#2: Every Monday students receive a "What's for Homework" sheet in which they are to write down daily homework assignments. Their parents are to initial the homework and the sheet each day. If
the student completes all of the homework and gets the sheet signed daily they receive a blank coupon. I have a list of various awards that the students can choose to fill in their coupon with. For example: sit by a friend for a day, sit at the teacher's desk for the day, skip one morning work assignment (students loved this one in order to skip handwriting!). I actually found this idea on this site last year. And it has really worked well. Only a handful of students didn't do their homework regularly.
Hope this helps!
