Hi! Here's an idea that I used last year. It worked pretty good. Each time my 4th graders ALL completed a homework assignment they earned a letter in the word H O M E W O R K. ( I laminated the letters and put magnets on the back to stick to our chalkboard). Every single class member needed to hand in the assignment ON TIME in order to get a letter. Once they spelled the entire word, the class received a reward. I tried to come up with different rewards throughout the year - and one's that didn't cost a lot. (Extra recess time, ice cream bars, additional computer time, video, etc.) This is an ongoing problem with 4th graders and I've found it is different every year. I'm sure hoping for a responsible bunch this year!! Hope this helps.
