Returning papers
By Tammy

Clip to ScrapBook
Hi Brenda! I keep an open file holder in the room. Every child has a hanging folder with their name on it and there is a red folder in front of them. I put all daily papers in the red folder and have two students whose
job it is to file papers each week. They file all daily work in everyone's folders. We have Wednesday Folders that go home with notes for the parents, lunch calendars, etc. Every Wednesday I also send home what I call a Treasure Chest. I file all test and quiz papers for the week on Tuesday night. Then on Wednesday the students line up alphabetically at the end of the day. They go
to the file, take out their papers, I staple them together with a note that the parents have to sign. All tests have to come back to me signed by a parent also. This way I am sure the parents have seen their child's daily papers and tests. I have used this system for 3 years (I got it from my cooperating teacher during student teaching) and it has worked very well for me. The parents like it also because many times, if you pass papers back to kids, parents never see them. Hope this helps. Tammy
