peer correcting
By Colleen

Clip to ScrapBook
I have never cared for the idea of kids or parent volunteer correcting other kids papers. I was embarassed by this when I was a kid. I would have been mortified if my classmate's mom corrected my work! I remember that we
used to change each others answers so our friends would get a good grade. I would rather have the kids correct their own work for immediate feedback. I have my kids sometimes correct their own work if it is just practice work. I think teachers should correct all recorded grades (tests, quizes, projects). I feel that if I give the work I must be responsible for doing the correcting. This
is part of what I'm getting paid for. Others teachers feel differently but this is how I feel.
Peer editing is O.K. with me as long as the final product is evaluated by the teacher.
