perm sub vs. leave replace
By been there(perm sub)

Clip to ScrapBook
Jeremy:
I just finished a year as a permanent sub. There are definite advantages to this type of employment. However, I am skeptical of your having to sign a contract. Do you qualify for benefits as a sub? If you sign a contract, it seems as if you should.
The experience you will gain a building sub is intense in the area of classroom management. The fact that the kids see you around the building every day and that you have a relationship with all members of the faculty diminishes only slightly the likelihood that students generally misbehave for subs!
A positive building sub experience can open the door for you when a full time spot opens up. Good luck...whatever decision you make, will be the right one!
