Actually, I think that I am the first teacher in several years to be president. One of the reasons I was elected is simply that we don't have enough parents attending meetings. It sounds as if you have more officers than we have members!!ha ha
Seriously, we have roughly 20 members, but not all of them show up or help out with things. One of my goals is to get more parent involvement--I'm just not sure how to go about doing it. Basically I'm looking for "incentives" to get the parents involved--I read something about door prizes and games on another post, so I thought about trying that during the meetings. | |
Another idea is providing "child care" during meeting times--many parents say they don't come simply because they have no one to watch their children.I would love to hear any ideas that you have, or if you want to share some of the things that you guys do....
