Another idea

Clip to ScrapBook
Rather than having students correct each other's papers, I have them correct their own. To ensure that they do not change their answers, they must color over the answer with yellow crayon before we start. This accomplishes 2 things -- 1) They can't cheat b/c you can't erase through the crayon and 2) Everyone double checks their answers as they color over them. After everyone hold up their papers and I see the yellow marks, they put the yellow crayon away and we check. Students have an opportunity to get immediate feedback about their own work, a chance to critique their own errors, and they are not embarassed by having someone else see if they really messed up.
