Writing program
By Ange

Clip to ScrapBook
In my Grade Four classroom the students have their own writing folders which contain their draft writing book, spelling book (which they attempt unknown words in), and a list of common words. Students draft their work which
has a minimum page limit, which varies for differing ability levels. When the students have proofread their work, they write their name on a numbered list, which I have up the front of the classroom. I go through the list one at a time conferencing with the student highlighting aspects of their work. This is great as it gives me at least 5 or more quality minutes of one to one teaching
with the student. (A great opportunity for assessment during this time!) Students who are waiting, either create the front cover of their published book (which I have pre-prepared), or begin their next story. The published work is shared with the grade and displayed in the classroom. HOPE THIS HELPS!!
