alternatives to spanking
By sn

Clip to ScrapBook
Amen!!! I have three teenage daughters, and they have NEVER been spanked. My husband and I do not believe in it. They are the most well behaved children. They never talk back or cause any problems. "spare the rod, spoil
the child" in my opinion means the "rod" is discipline and you better inforce it when they are really young. This DOES NOT mean to spank a child. I am a Christian and this drives me crazy hearing Christians talk about spanking as biblical. I do a strong-will child but has never been spanked and is now an awesome teenager. When they were little, we would always stay calm and send
them to their rooms until they were ready to come out. We also use the things they like to take away for discipline. The most important thing to remember is that kids will make mistatkes and learning from natural consequences is the best way. And please don't tell me that you were spanked and turned out just fine because if you spank your own children then you DIDN'T turn out just fine. I cannot imagine striking my children. When I mess up, nobody strikes me. Do they you?
