I can see that you were treated as I was in my school. My principal just caved in to the parents. I was new AND from out-of-town. That made me an outsider, too. My principal told me that I was out of the "loop," although I refused to allow myself to be fazed by it. It was a poor rural community school that I worked in, and the parents weren't bright enough, I didn't think, to look beyond their prejudices.
