Our star student info
By CK

Clip to ScrapBook
The bio sheet was really quite simple. It was sectioned off with several headings: My Family, My Favorites, My Pet(s), Something Special. Each section would have a cute graphic with it. Under My Family, the child would
fill in names of parents, siblings & others living in their home; where they were born (or came from) etc. My Favorites would list their favorite food, TV show, book, animal, movie,... things like that. We DID NOT list favorite friend(s) as this may cause hurt feelings. My Pet(s) would include info like the pet's name, what it is, does it know tricks, etc. If a child does not have a
pet, they can talk about what kind of pet they would like if they COULD have one. In Something Special, they would write something about themselves for which they are proud, or a characteristic, or something interesting or exciting that they have experienced. The child then uses this as a "script" when talking to the class, OR you can have someone else read the information (teacher or classmate).
Use these ideas or similar ones to make your own. As far as the letter goes, I don't have a copy here; they're filed away at school. But you can figure out what to write. Just explain the concept, that each child will get a turn at being a "Star" for the week, that items of special interest can be brought to school to share & be kept on display (do not send valuable items), please help your child fill out the attached bio, etc. Do what works for you, but don't be afraid to make changes if necessary
