Books on Community
By Debbie

Clip to ScrapBook
Hi all,
The National Council for the Social Studies (NCSS) publishes an extensive list of great literature for all grade levels each year. The lists are found on their website: www.ncss.org and are organized according
to the national standards they have published in cooperation with teachers and educators in the field, parents, other interested persons...These lists are excellent for finding whatever you might need for the teaching of a SS topic. An entire print out is usually around 24 pages of book suggestions for the 10 SS strands. It's free for the downloading...
Another resource I'd recommend
from them is their National Standards book; in addition to curriculum-both process and product outcomes, there are many activity suggestions and explanations. A valuable and inexpensive book. Have fun choosing your titles. Debbie ;-D
