Clip to ScrapBook
Each year I create a wall with columns. The columns are headed with a range of books read(0-5)(6-10) etc. I use a publishing software to write each students name in very large letters. You can get about 3 students name on one piece of construction paper. After the names are printed, I cut them apart from each other and lamenate each piece. During the first week of school, I place each student's name in the first column on the wall. From that point on, the students compete to see how swiftly they can move their name across the wall! (of course they must PASS the tests on the books they read before they can move into the next column). They are also awarded with a small prize when they get into a new column.
