Kidslovea mystery
By Sue

Clip to ScrapBook
Dear Jim,

I feel for you buddy. I don't know if you can take advantage of the internet in your classroom. If you can, a good website that kids your age sometimes like is the www.kidsloveamystery.com. They have a mystery of the "day" with the solution the next day. Students read the mystery and can vote on what suspect they think did it. The next day, the results are revealed. You could give rewards for those who guessed correctly.

Also, if you are planning centers, a sort of internet scavenger hunt could be nice. You could have students find answers to factual questions that relate to stories they are reading. I have had many students who were not the best behaved and focused in class excell at these computer-type activities.

Hope this helps.
Sue
