Just finished my first year of Second grade!

Elizabeth, I just finished my first full year of teaching second grade. It was very interesting to say the least. I teach in an inner-city school with over 700+++ students K-5. I would say that my biggest challenge | was classroom management, not only because of the 2 or 3 GEMS that everyone is blessed with, but because in my district...the mobility rate is high. I had some kids for a few weeks, a few months, and I was lucky enough to keep 14 all year. I think that I had a total of 28 different students during the year. It made teaching interesting. Finding out their reading levels and what they | |
have learned previously in math. Anyway, just set up clear rules, rewards, and consequences and be CONSISTENT! Anyway, if you have any questions, etc...please feel free to email me. Good luck this fall and let us know how it goes!
