The Education Center, publishers of The Mailbox Magazine, has an excellent book entitled "The Mailbox Superbook for Grade_____". It is grade specific and there is one specifically for third grade. There are hundreds of ideas for everything from classroom management and setup to thematic units and many reproducibles. This might be of help to you.
