Clip to ScrapBook
Hi,
I have two suggestions that I have found successful in the past.
1) have the child make his own reading board. This is basically a ruller shaped piece of construction paper with a window cut out in the middle. The window should be small enough to read one line of text, think about height and width especially. This will help the child to concentrate on the text before him without obstruction from other words.

2) When the child is reading allowed and makes a mistake ask him if he can read it again. Let him make his own corrections.

I hope this helps,
Karen
