thanks for the responses. What i am trying to do during guided reading is establish some "simple" centers so I can work with small groups, I don't want to make them just busy work, but I nedd to get them going. My ideal would be to introduce them 1 at a time in my own class during the year, but i only have 3 weeks to go on Monday. I plan on having buddy reading (which is hard cause these kids do not like reading), listening post, concentration game with nouns and adjectives (i couldn't believe they didn;t know what they were, 4th-5th)and my guided reading group
