recurring nightmare
By Carolyn

Clip to ScrapBook
I understand how you must feel. I had a really horrible class this past year. Nobody wanted to teach them, and the teacher who was supposed to teach them "looped" up to sixth grade so that she wouldn't have to teach them.
Towards the end of the year when teaching assignments were about to be made, everybody was wondering who would get "that class." Our sixth grade teacher didn't want them. She applied for a transfer so that she wouldn't have to teach them. She didn't get the transfer, so she will have to teach them or go to another school district. My principal had asked me if I wanted to loop up
with them, and I think he was even half-serious. I told him that I would sooner be a WalMart greeter or sweep the floor at McDonalds. He got the point. He had also wanted to know if I wanted to teach second grade this coming year. That would mean getting the younger equivalent of what I had this year! I just told the principal that I was happy with fifth grade.

I sympathize with you, even if I don't have any ready-made solutions for you.
