new boards By Cathy-Dee

Although I agree that there are a number of new boards starting up, I also noticed a number of new people it seems who would be interested in those boards. If the regular boards do not apply to you directly, you might enjoy| them from time to time, but not really be active. I don't see how these new boards would take away from the regular boards unless they began to become too specific. I know someone was asking about a early childhood board, but with the primary board and the kindergarten boards already in place, they should cover most early childhood posts. I teach in a Catholic/Public School - very | | different setting. And there are concerns, questions that when asked on a regular board will more likely get a lot of negative responses rather than helpful ones. Questions on book series that are controversial for example, or on dealing with prayer in school, etc., If someone does not read the post carefully, then the post becomes a stomping ground for those who are either side of an issue. It may happen on this "private schools" board, but hopefully the majority of the teachers who post or answer posts will be those involved in private schools past or present. And if you are not interested in the public school sector then having these posts on another board keeps things easier to read through on the main boards. I know the Canadian board has gone to the background because it was too quiet, so the new boards may end up only being for a few people who know the link and may never get linked to the main boards anyway. Personally I think if the interest is there, and the board is quite different or unique then why not try it out.
