AR Rewards/Strore

I don't want to be the odd man out here, but we use the store at the end of the year and it works really well for our students. Each 6 weeks we have a reward that is for students that have met their goal. We have done ice-cream
sundaes, movie and popcorn, and many other things. We also have a display in the main hall where each student posts their name as they meet their goal in a 6 weeks. At the end of the year, the students get to spend their points at the store and they are very excited about it. Our school is K-5, so the 5th graders get something special. Area businesses donate bigger prizes and

they participate in an auction for these items. This is such a big thing that many 4th graders save part of their points for the next year.
While I do not believe this should be the only motivation for students, sometimes it is what a kid needs to begin to enjoy reading. I will do whatever it takes!
