more on safety patrol

In our city the police department works with the safety patrol by driving by on occasion and giving them a thumbs up. They are recognized at the end of the year assembly with a pin, and I agree with Steve that being on patrol is a privelege for students. We also take our safety patrol to a local amusement park at the end of the year, PTA helps with the money part of this. Also the police department arranges for them to be honored at a local baseball game (not big league). These kids work hard and sometimes not in the best weather, frequent acknowledgement is important. Good luck, Mom!!!
