Social Studies
By Sarah

Clip to ScrapBook
Looking at the National Standards is a great idea. Another good thing to look for is your state and local standards. In my district we really teach to the state standards since that is what the students are tested on, and the local district standards usually fall in line with those. Most social studies plans go on the view of "expanding horizons" so in K5 start with what they know best, their family and themselves, first grade is usually communities etc. See if your district has a set book they use. Our social studies is from Hardcourt Brace, so the students have workbooks, etc.
Good luck!
