Centers By Kelly

I use centers in my fourth grade. For simplicity I keep the same centers from week to week just varying the activity withing each. The students must visit each of the centers during the week. I have 5 centers and the students| visit one per day. If the student is absent they must make up the center on their own in their free time. My centers are usually a geography center, reading center, computer center, math center, and science. I try to make the activity as hands-on as possible and try to include a brief writing activity at the end of each, so that the students can reflect on what they have learned. | | I discuss on Monday what is to be done at each center. The directions are also placed at each center. The first year it takes a while to get everything together, but after that you can store them based on theme and just pull the appropriate one out each week. If I can be any more help to you just let me know.
