Hi! I just finished a course which dealt with curriculum and standards. Be very familiar with your state or district standards! Knowing the standards are very important. If you're lucky enough to be in a district that actually
has a curriculum (unlike myself)choose an area. For example math. Problem solving is very important especially for the 4th grade state assessment. Be sure to include various activities that the students can do to show problem solving activities. Include individual student difference such as multiple intelligences and special ed. accomodations. For example students will explain their
problem solving either in written form, drawing, or orally to the teacher or a small group. For assessments go beyond quizzes and tests. Journals (yes in math too), real world situations, etc.
Hope this helps. If you have futher questions, don't hesitate to e-mail me.
Good luck.
