reading strategies

Hi Beth,
How old are your students? Do you need decoding strategies or comprehension strategies? Do your students read? I am a consultant grades K-3. I have taught the low reading groups in all those levels. (Inclusion
kids)(LD). I teach story mapping for comprehension to all levels. They need to know what to look for when reading or listening to a story. The words, characters, setting, problem, solution are taught to mastery to all students but LD students need to be shown how and to do it automatically. If it is decoding strategies you need I teach rhyming and sound segmentation to mastery first. If
they don't know their letters and sounds I use a visual approach and then they learn letter/key word/sound with the visul tools to mastery. E-mail me if you need more. I use different programs depending on the students' reading weaknesses.
Judy
