supplies

Megan,
I agree with the other two that you will probably have to spend some of your own money on supplies. When you do, concentrate on buying with your own money materials and equipment that you will want to take with
you when you move. Keep your receipts and mark the materials with your name. This way there is never a question about whose money bought the stuff. I have learned that I don't want school money to purchase my black line books, the books I read aloud to my class or my games. These items are too hard to replace, so I buy them with my money.

As to the other stuff (lots of it) that you

will need - check with your principal and be sure the old teacher is entitled to remove all the things she has taken. Ask if there is a store of unused items anywhere in the building. Leave a note on the bulletin board near the copy machine in your building, begging for any extras you may need. Teachers are constantly changing their rooms around and you may pick up great furniture, books and supplies from teachers who are mucking out.

Good luck!
Julianne
