Wonderful mentor teacher!

Hi there,
I am a "mature" relatively, new grad. This next Aug. I will be starting my 2nd year, teaching 2nd grade, with a school dist. in western AZ. Before this dist., I floundered around in sch. dists, with no guidance| or strong support. It was horrible! I was actually paying more attention to my survival as a new teacher than really putting my attention on teaching "my" kids. Before I was hired at my current dist., my first question to them, even before my interview, was, "Does this dist. have a mentoring program?" My mentors have been great!! They were and are there to encourage, support, | |
define distict's procedures, and sooth nerves. I am looking forward to these mentor teachers in my classroom next year to further my effectiveness and confidence in a career that I just love! :-) Jeanne
