Special Person
By Debbie

Clip to ScrapBook
I like to have the kids interview the student. They come up with some interesting questions! Kids tastes and interests do change from year to year, so sometimes you can learn something new. I then have the class write a letter to the Special Person. (The SP writes to me and I write back.) We put these letters into a book that the SP takes home at the end of the week. This is a good way to teach letter writing. The SP also gets to take the mascot's journal home over the weekend and write a new chapter in his adventure book. (We have a large stuffed gorilla for a mascot, so they do not take the mascot home.)The SP gets to share his/her story about the mascot.
