Writing Rubrics
By Debbie

Clip to ScrapBook
Hi Kathy,
On the writing rubrics, there is a web site our state is using to grade the state standards tests. www.nwrel.org/sixtraits/sixtraits.html
Before we refined the rubric we adopted as a school, we spent several days looking at student writing K-6 and attempted to define what we saw in their works...not what wasn't there. (Which was interesting and difficult at times.)
Once we looked at the elements of good writing, we tried to put them into categories and a continuum...this turned out to be a most valuable experience for all. If you want details, please post or email. Debbie Good luck. ;-D
