Shop around. Fnd out what companies your school has accounts with. Many of them offer nice discounts. I order many things from School Specialty. They offer us a 25% discount, so my money goes much farther. As a first year teacher there are SO many things you will need. Be prepared to spend out-of-pocket money. Some of the supplies your students can supply (pencils, paper, erasers, crayons, glue). I also found that spending the schools money on items such as chalk, staples, etc. a better way to go. Spend your money on things you know you will want to keep (books, visuals). Should you leave, there will be no questions asked!
