Math help

I have used touch math for children with learning disabilities and found it to be very effective. I agree that it does slow children down and it is best to have those facts memorized but that is not going to happen for all| children at the same time. I have used a program called Math Phonics. It teaches the children patterns and rules for memorizing those math facts. I have had parents say that they have gotten much better at addition and subtraction since their child is teaching them the rules. Several got the books to reteach their older children that were struggling. I have not used them but I | |
know that there are books for multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals. I have heard good things about the multiplication. This is only a supplimental book (about $10). It is not a full curriculum by any means. It is also only one way to teach it. Be sure you use a variety of methods so all you students can be successful.
