math rotations
By Cheryl

Clip to ScrapBook
I'm not exactly sure what you mean by math rotations, but what I do is teach a skill or concept or strategy, etc. then set up 4 or 5 centers with a math menu. The menu idea came from the Marilyn Burns Math Solutions - take for instance the area of Probability and Statistics. You can teach whole class, with activities and manipulatives. Set up the centers and have the class rotate, one or two centers per day until they have completed the rotation. You can find lots of good ideas in Marilyn BUrns book "About Teaching Mathematics". THeir website is mathsolutions.com.
