One thing I use before my math students come in is Math Tic Tac Toe. I make a tic tac toe grid on the board and put a review math problem in each square. When the students come in, they sit down and compute the answers. (With only 9 review problems, no one complains too much!) After a set amount of time, the class is split into two teams. I call on a student from alternating teams. They choose a square. If they have a correct answer, they get to put an "X" (or "O") there. The first team to get three in a row wins!
