adding some "rocks!" to your roll!

Earlier in the year, I read a great theme that another teacher did using rocks. It had to do with "Reading Rocks" and the students painted rocks and they had to read to their rocks for 5 minutes each night to keep their rocks alive! Later in the year, she was having the students bring the rocks back to school and they did an entire day of great learning using the "rocks" ...it may have been a "rockin' reunion"...anyway, I am not sure what grade your teaching, but this idea in some format, may be useful to use for your theme this year! I am not sure if the idea was on this busyboard or the primary busyboard...
