I told them I believed in a mixture of phonics and whole language, which seems to be the standard now. You might say that you would use the reading curriculum that's in place and then add how you would teach it whether it's| with phonics, whole language or a mix. Have a lesson plan/activity to show them based on a good children's book. Have a 3rd grade and a kindergarten level, one for each interview. And for parent interaction, you definitely want that. I believe a parent should be a partner in the child's education. (That may not always be the case, but we'd like it to be!) Interchanging your classroom | | management strategies is a good idea. I would definitely make up a list of strategies and have it in your portfolio. Even if they don't look at it, typing it up will set it firmly in your mind so that you can talk about it. Interviews are hard but you'll be great. Dress professionally, act confident (even though you don't feel it, and smile. Be sure and let us know how it turns out! :o) Laurie
